Fordshire aims to be recognized as leaders in the mining, energy, oil and gas industry
“For Africa, future economic development depends on solving the continent’s energy challenges. The role that metals, solid minerals & oil will play in these solutions will be informed by a wide range of drivers, as well as clarity about the relative priorities for governments in the competition between solid minerals, oil and gas and renewable energy solutions.”
“As uncertain regulatory frameworks, taxation requirements and corruption continue to rank at the top of industry’s challenges in Africa, it is also high time that governments in resource-rich nations make significant changes. What’s worse than the resource curse? The inability to attract investment on any level!.”
“Instead of despair, players must look at the current state of the industry as an opportunity to reinvent themselves. The key challenge will be to look beyond the here and now to envision an organization that is built to withstand the cycles of commodity pricing.”
“Given the state of the industry, we think that stakeholders must make changes to their business models. Change is the way to survive in the ‘new energy future’. We need to see new business models, new products, new energy sources and new strategies to meet the new reality.”
Global demand for specialty and base metals is escalating. That's because the world's growing population consumes more and more items that use these metals... items such as computers, flat-screen TVs, and automobiles. Precious metals like gold has become a mainstay for the affluent. Every liquid crystal display (LCD) on the market contains tin. Similarly, zinc occur in most cars cruising highways. The Gemstones industry is equally growing speedy fast.
Furthermore, manufacturing these high-demand items takes energy. The energy comes mainly from fossil fuel, nuclear or hydroelectric sources, all of which use specialty metals. Scientists are also finding new roles for specialty metals in alternative energy systems. For example, Lead is used for as the essential building block for a piezoelectric nanogenerator which has found its use in mechanical energy associated with human activities such as blood circulation, respiration, walking, typing and running.
Commercially viable deposits of Gold, Gemstones, Lead, Zinc, tin and tantalite are uncommon. Deposits containing gemstones are also rare. Northern Nigeria is among the fewest known deposit in the world where precious metals, non-ferrous metals and gems occur within close proximity, in economic quantities and under such favourable geographic and political conditions.
These metal deposits are mineralogically diverse. Fordshire has acquired some acreages/concessions to develop minerals ore for the purpose of converting the various metals into concentrates and eventually exporting them for trading. The processes designed to meet or exceed the most stringent environmental regulations.
